Police on Friday recovered the body of a woman from the city’s Hatirjheel lake.
The deceased was identified as Asma Begum, 49, of Nilphamari District.
On information, police recovered the body floating on the lake around 12:30 pm, said Omar Faruq, sub-inspector (SI) of Hatirjheel Police Station.
The woman’s identity was ascertained after scanning fingerprints through the CID crime scene, the SI said.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy, he added.
