Police have arrested a young man reportedly for rape attempt on a Class-I girl in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore district.
The arrestee is Al-Amin Sarder, 38, of Singari village in the upazila.
A team of police from Bhatpara Police Investigation Centre arrested Al-Amin on Tuesday afternoon.
Victim’s mother said the youth lured her daughter to a betel leaf garden on Saturday where he tried to rape her.
As the victim raised hue and cry, he fled the scene, said officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar Police Station M Tajul Islam.
