A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a covered van in the Sultana Kamal Bridge area under Demra of the capital on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Saddam Hossain, 30, son of Abdul Latif of the Masar area of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj. He worked at SSB Global company.
Obaidul Haque, who took the victim to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 11:30am, said the accident took place on the western slope of the Sultana Kamal Bridge when a covered van hit Saddam’s motorcycle around 10:15am, leaving him seriously injured.
He was rescued and taken to the DMCH Emergency Department where doctors pronounced him dead.
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue.
