The Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) has organised an orientation workshop on the “Patent, Design, and Trademark (Application and Obtainment) Process.”
The workshop was held at the BCI Boardroom on Saturday.
BCI President Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) was present as the chief guest.
Mirza Golam Sarwar, deputy director (patents), Department of Patents, Industrial Designs and Trademarks, Ministry of Industries, and Md Mehedi Hasan, deputy director (trademarks), Department of Patents, Industrial Designs and Trademarks, Ministry of Industries, were present as discussants and trainers.
With BCI Director Dr Delwar Hossain Raja in the chair, 22 representatives from BCI members and various chambers participated in the workshop. BCI Director General, Md. Shahid Alam, was also present at the workshop.
BCI President Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) said patents, designs, and trademarks are an important issue for the industrial sector of the country.
He said that intellectual property protection is very important for the products produced by the industry. He called upon the industry owners to create a connection between the service recipients and service
Finally, the BCI president analysed the current situation in the country's economy, and he took the opinions of the participants on various issues and sought the cooperation of all the participants to properly present the existing problems in the industrial sector to the government.
