A delegation from the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), led by President Zaved Akhtar, met with Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Industries, at his office on Monday.
According to a media statement, the meeting focused on collaborative approaches to address industrial challenges in Bangladesh.
During the discussions, both the delegation and the adviser explored strategies for short-term and mid-term solutions to enhance industrial growth.
Key topics included intellectual property rights, trademarks, and other critical industrial issues. The FICCI delegation proposed the establishment of a centralized IP office to manage all IP-related matters, including copyright, trademark, patent design, and geographical indications (GI).
Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan praised FICCI for its proactive stance in addressing sectoral issues.
He highlighted the importance of private sector involvement to optimize the use of government industrial parks and called for strong cooperation to foster the growth of Bangladesh’s industrial sector.
The meeting was attended by Industries Ministry Senior Secretary Zakia Sultana, other high-ranking officials from the ministry, and members of the FICCI Board of Directors: Md. Mahbub ur Rahman, Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury, Sumitava Basu, and Executive Director T.I.M. Nurul Kabir.
