Islami Bank Bangladesh organised a grand orientation program on Thursday for 1,000 newly recruited Trainee Assistant Officers at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) in the capital.
Professor Dr. M. Zubaidur Rahman, Chairman of Islami Bank, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
He highlighted that while the bank has faced challenges in recent years it has successfully turned obstacles into opportunities for progress.
“Those joining the bank today will lead the banking sector tomorrow.You must work with this dream in mind and strive for professional excellence to build a ‘Developed Bangladesh’ and a modern Islamic banking system,”he said.
The programme was presided over by Managing Director Md. Omar Faruk Khan.
Special guests included Additional Managing Directors Md. Altaf Hossain, Mohammad Jamal Uddin Majumder, and Dr. M. Kamal Uddin Jasim.
They urged the recruits to prioritize customer service, noting that the bank’s success is built on the trust of the people.
The speakers called on the young officers to play a vital role in accelerating the bank’s growth and contributing to the overall development of the national banking sector.
The recruitment marks a significant milestone for the bank, as the new officers were selected from a massive pool of 91,756 candidates. The selection followed a rigorous and transparent process, including competitive written examinations and viva-voce interviews, according to the press release.
The new cohort represents a diverse geographical spread, with successful candidates hailing from all 64 districts of Bangladesh. Statistics from the recruitment drive showed. Top districts Chattogram secured the highest number of recruits, followed by Cumilla and Cox's Bazar.
