Actor Sonali Bendre has been accused by a Pune-based farmer of involvement in an alleged land fraud case, though she and her legal team have strongly denied the claims, stating her name does not appear in any official land records or transaction documents.
The allegations also involve her husband, Goldie Behl, in connection with a land deal covering around 30 gunthas in the Maval area of Pune.
Farmer Chandrakant Shinde claims his family has held ancestral rights to the land since 1957 and alleges that the property was unlawfully acquired, ignoring those rights. He also accused the parties of attempting illegal construction on the land and threatening his family.
Rejecting the accusations, Bendre described them as baseless and motivated by an attempt to extort money.
The farmer has filed a petition in the Civil Court of Vadgaon Maval, seeking a stay order on the disputed land. He maintains that his family legally owned the approximately 32,000-square-foot plot in Uksan prior to 1957.
According to Bendre’s lawyer, Raju Shinde, the farmer had previously approached authorities, including the Tehsildar and Sub-Divisional Officer, but his appeals were dismissed.
The case names Sonali Bendre, Goldie Behl, and two others as respondents, with the next hearing scheduled for April 20.
