Renovation work is underway at Salman Khan's Bandra residence, Galaxy Apartment, to strengthen security measures amid persistent threats to the actor's safety.
On Sunday, workers were seen repairing the apartment's balcony and windows, part of efforts to safeguard Salman and his family.
The upgrades include securing windows and structural modifications to the balcony, a spot where Salman frequently greets his fans.
Besides, blinds were installed on the balcony, and public gatherings directly opposite the building have been restricted.
Salman has been the target of death threats from jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who has linked the threats to the actor’s alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
In a televised interview, Bishnoi openly threatened Salman, placing him at the top of a list of targets. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has validated the credibility of these threats.
In April 2024, unidentified attackers fired shots outside Galaxy Apartment early in the morning, though Salman was inside at the time. The incident prompted stricter security measures, including a ban on vehicles stopping near the building.
Tensions escalated after the October 12, 2024, assassination of Baba Siddique, a close friend of Salman and a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for Siddique's murder, amplifying concerns for Salman’s safety.
Currently, Salman Khan is under Y-plus category security provided by the Maharashtra government. His security detail includes 11 armed personnel, commandos, personal security officers (PSOs), and two escort vehicles accompanying his bulletproof car at all times.
