A mild heat wave is sweeping parts of the country including Dhaka.
“ It is sweeping Rajshahi , Sylhet divisions, Dhaka, Tangail, Madaripur, Rangpur, Netrakona, Rangamati, Cumilla, Feni, Jashore and Kushtia districts and it may abate from some places,” said a bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday.

Country’s highest temperature was recoded at 37 degree Celcius in Feni and Rangpur districts on Sunday while Dhaka’s temperature was recorded at 36.7 degree Celcius.
The BMD also forecast light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions ; at many places over Rajshahi & Dhaka divisions and at a few places over Rangpur,Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country in 24 hours coomecing 9am on Monday.

Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
It also predicted that rainfall may increase during the period.
The low pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal coast & adjoining area has intensified into a well-marked low over central part of North Bay and adjoining area.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana,Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, center of the well-marked low to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh, said the bulletin.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
