A mobile court has fined two brick kiln owners Tk 8.5 lakh for illegally cutting soil from agricultural land and operating an unlicensed business in Feni.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sajeeb Talukder conducted the drive in the Fazilpur area of Feni Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon.

During the drive, Amin Bricks in the Fazilpur area was fined Tk 7.5 lakh for not renewing its license for the current year and for cutting soil from cropland.
In West Fazilpur, Khaiyara Bricks-1 was demolished for operating an unlicensed business and cutting soil from cropland for a long time. In addition, the company was fined Tk 1 lakh.
Magistrate Sajeeb Talukder said such drives will continue to stop the illegal cutting of soil from cropland.

Brick kiln owners have been warned not to cut soil from cropland during the drive.
