A fitness influencer who lost 15 kilograms in four months has shared five simple lifestyle habits she says were key to her weight-loss journey, emphasizing consistency and basic healthy practices over restrictive diets or extreme fitness routines.
In a post on Instagram, influencer Disha Maggu said that if she had to lose the weight again, she would focus on sustainable habits rather than chasing “fancy diets” or quick fixes.
One of her top recommendations is walking regularly and choosing stairs over elevators whenever possible. She described walking as an effective form of cardio that is often underestimated.
Maggu also stressed the importance of starting the day with water instead of tea or coffee. According to her, proper hydration can support metabolism, reduce unnecessary cravings and help maintain stable energy levels throughout the day.
Another key element of her routine is consuming adequate fibre. While protein often receives more attention in weight-loss plans, she noted that fibre plays an equally important role by supporting gut health and helping regulate blood sugar levels.
She further advised preparing meals at home whenever possible. Homemade food allows better control over ingredients, portion sizes and cooking methods, while reducing the intake of hidden calories, excess sodium and added sugars often found in processed or takeaway foods.
Finally, Maggu highlighted the importance of maintaining a modest calorie deficit for fat loss. She encouraged people to be mindful of portion sizes and liquid calories, recommending whole fruits instead of fruit juices.
