Sheikh Tonmoy, the AL candidate running in Bagerhat-2 constituency, has said that 70 percent of the people like the Awami League government due to the continued development and stability it ensured.
They want to see Awami League in power again under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said.
He made the remarks while speaking at his election campaign in Jatrapur area of Bagerhat Sadar upazila on Monday evening.

Regarding BNP, he said that they do not have a leader, and they lost their ability to stand firmly.
Sheikh Tonmoy said, without the support of the countrymen, no one can oust the elected democratic government by relying on foreigners. BNP and its allies have played a farce with the countrymen in the name of mass movement for the past few years, he added.
They have no political goals except the desire to come to power, he said.
He also urged people to go to the polling station for the January 7 election and vote for the candidate of their choice.

According to the returning officer, a total of 26 candidates are contesting in the four parliamentary seats of Bagerhat in the upcoming national election.
Of them, 23 candidates from different political parties including Awami League, Jatiya Party, Trinamool BNP and three independent candidates are contesting in Bagerhat-2, Bagerhat-3 and Bagerhat-4 constituencies.
