Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a two-member partial convening committee for its Dhaka North city unit on Sunday.
Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator Safiqul Islam Khan as convener and Dhaka-18 MP SM Jahangir Hossain has been named as member secretary, in the committee.
The information was disclosed in a press release sent by BNP Assistant Office Secretary Md Munir Hossain on night.
The partial committee has been asked to form a full-fledged convening committee within the next two weeks.
The important organisational unit of the party got its new leadership more than a month after the previous convening committee was dissolved.
The 51-member convening committee of Dhaka North city BNP was dissolved on September 30.
Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton is a vice-president of the central committee of Jubo Dal. He previously served as acting member secretary of Dhaka North city unit Jubo Dal. He contested the 13th parliamentary election from Dhaka-15 as a BNP candidate.
S M Jahangir Hossain, the MP from Dhaka-18, was a joint convener of the now-dissolved Dhaka North city unit BNP committee. Earlier, he served as president of Dhaka North city unit Jubo Dal.
