Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud will represent Bangladesh at the oath-taking ceremony of Maldivian President-elect Mohamed Muizzu.
Hasan Mahmud is on his way to the Maldives capital, spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Seheli Sabrin told reporters on Thursday.

Muizzu will take charge as the Maldivian president on Friday.
Earlier, Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina extended heartfelt congratulations to Mohamed Muizzu on being elected as the president of Maldives.

They hoped to strengthen the bond between the countries in the coming days.
