Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on Saturday has formed two medical teams to provide emergency healthcare services to people affected by the ongoing floods in different parts of the country.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the JCD central committee.
According to the statement, continuous rainfall and hill torrents from India have triggered flash floods in Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Bandarban, Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Moulvibazar and Sunamganj, leaving thousands of people stranded and facing humanitarian hardship.

To ensure emergency medical assistance for flood victims, the JCD central committee has constituted two medical teams comprising central leaders, physicians from various public and private medical colleges, and student leaders.
Medical Team-1 will be coordinated by JCD Vice-President Dr. Touhidur Rahman Awal. The team also includes central leaders and representatives from Dhaka Medical College, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Chattogram Medical College Chhatra Dal.
Medical Team-2 will be coordinated by JCD Joint General Secretary Dr. A. S. M. Rakibul Islam Akand. It includes central leaders, physicians and representatives from private medical and dental college units of Chhatra Dal.
The press release said the two teams will provide medical treatment, conduct health awareness activities and carry out humanitarian assistance in flood-affected areas.
The statement, signed by JCD Office Secretary (with the status of Vice-President) Md. Jahangir Alam, said the organisation would continue its efforts to ensure necessary medical services for people affected by the disaster.
