Barrister Zaima Rahman, daughter of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, on Saturday conducted a door-to-door election campaign in Dhaka-17 constituency, seeking public support for her father ahead of the national election.

Zaima began the campaign around noon from Gulshan Police Plaza area and moved through different roads of Gulshan, directly approaching voters and requesting support for the BNP’s electoral symbol, the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’.

During the campaign, she distributed leaflets among pedestrians, rickshaw-pullers, auto-rickshaw drivers, shopkeepers, street vendors and shoppers at local shopping malls.

Addressing voters, Zaima Rahman said, “My father, Tarique Rahman, is the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ candidate in Dhaka-17. I am asking for your votes in his favour. Please vote for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ and ensure my father’s victory.”

She also entered various offices and banks in the Gulshan area, spoke to voters inside the premises and sought their support while handing out campaign leaflets.

Former BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s caregiver Fatema Khatun was also seen accompanying Zaima Rahman during the campaign.

As the campaign continued from Gulshan Police Plaza to Gulshan-1 circle, a large number of curious people gathered around her.

Many were seen taking photographs with Zaima Rahman, which she warmly accepted.
