Bangladesh national women’s cricket team made a flying start in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Women’s Emerging Teams Cup T20 Cricket outplaying Malaysia by 97 runs in their first match at the Mission Road ground, Mong Kok in Hong Kong on Monday.
With the day’s feat, Bangladesh topped the four-team Group B list securing two points from one match.

Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss and scored 148 for 6 in stipulated 20 overs with number five batter Murshida Khatun contributing an unbeaten 57 runs off just 44 deliveries featuring seven boundaries . Later, she was adjudged the player of the match.
Besides, Shorna Akter (20), Rabeya Khatun (15), Sobhani Mostary (14), Shanti Rani (11) and Rubya Halder (10) were the other notable batters for Bangladesh reaching the double figures.
Aisya Eleesa, Mahirah Izzati Ismail and Nur Dani Syuhada took two wickets each conceding 20, 21 and 25 runs respectively.

In reply, Malaysia were forced to fold their innings at 58 runs for the loss of eight wickets in quota 20 overs.
Only three Malaysian players—Ainna Hamizah Hashim (13), captain Mas Flysa (11) and Christina Baret (11) –were able to score the double digit runs.

Rabeya Khan grabbed two Malaysia wickets for seven runs in her three over spell while Sanjida Akter Meghla, Nahida Akter, Sultana Khatun, Marufa Akhter claimed one wicket each.
