Bangladesh National Women's Hockey team, riding on four goals from Irin Akhter Riya, earned the 2nd consecutive win in the Women's Asian Hockey 5s (five-a-side) World Cup Qualifier crushing Iran by 9-3 goals held in Salalah, Oman on Saturday (August 26).
Bangladesh women' s team, which is playing the international hockey after about four years, made a brilliant comeback in their first five- a- side international hockey appearance.

Bangladesh team, riding on hattricks by Orpita Pal and Irin Akhter Riya, tasted the first victory in their 2nd match of the ongoing meet Friday afternoon outplaying Chinese Taipei by 10-5 goals after suffering 4-7 goals defeat against Indonesia in the opening match on the same day (Friday)
In their 3nd match Saturday morning, Bangladesh women's team comfortably dominated the first half by 5-1 goals over Iran.
Irin Akhter Riya scored four goals for Bangladesh and was adjudged the best player of the match while Orpita Pal scored three, Mukta Khatun and Kona Akhter scored one each for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh women's team face hosts Oman Saturday (August 26) night and will play their last group with Hong Kong on Sunday (August 27).
Earlier, Bangladesh was placed in Challengers Pool with Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Iran and hosts Oman while India, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand put in Elite Pool.
Three teams from the qualifying round earn the rights to play World Cup Hockey.
