Following their 2020 triumph in South Africa, Bangladesh's U-19 cricket team heads back to the rainbow nation hungry for another ICC World Cup title.
Chief selector Hannan Sarkar and head coach Stuart Law have set the bar high, aiming for the title while acknowledging the importance of a sturdy start.
India awaits in the tournament opener, a challenge Bangladesh confidently embraces after beating the same opponents en route to lifting the ACC U-19 Asia Cup title in the UAE.
“We're considered a big team at this level now,” declared Hannan at the pre-departure press conference, “and we want to bring back that winning feeling.”

He emphasised the crucial role of the knockout stage: “Two wins at the knockout stage bring the title home, but we'll take it one game at a time.”
Bangladesh's potent all-rounder unit, featuring both spin and pace options, is seen as a key strength.
The law echoed the focus on process over outcome: “Obsessing over the final goal can derail the journey. We must prioritise proper execution in every match.” Hannan reiterated the mantra of one game at a time, emphasising that India is the immediate focus, followed by every successive opponent.
