Bangladeshi umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid is poised to achieve another milestone in his umpiring career as he officiates in the Test match between Australia and the West Indies later this month in Australia.
This achievement marks him as the first Bangladeshi umpire to officiate a Test match in Australia.
In the last ICC World Cup held in India, he served as an on-field umpire in several matches—another historic feat for a Bangladeshi umpire officiating in World Cup matches.
To date, he has umpired in over 100 matches for Bangladesh, setting a record as the Bangladeshi official with the most international matches under his belt.
Sharfuddoula commenced his umpiring career in 2010, and over the past 13 years, he has established himself as the most prolific umpire in Bangladesh.
