The 17-year-old local boy has also set another record to be the eighth Bangladesh cricketer to have five-for on 61 runs on Test debut alongside third youngest-ever cricketer to do so, placing after Pakistani cricketers Nasim-ul-Ghani and Mohammad Amir.

He bowled 14 overs on the day for the exciting achievement at the age of his 17-year 356-day while Nasim [5/116] at 16-year 303-day and Amir [5/79] at 17-year 257-day.

Bangladesh bowled out the West Indies for 246 in the first Test in reply to the hosts’ 324 where Nayeem helped the home side take a 78-run first innings lead.

From the eight-men Bangladesh’s list who took five wickets in debut test, three - Mehidy Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad, and Taijul Islam - are his team-mates in this ongoing Test. The other four debutant five-for bowlers are -- Elias Sunny, Manjural Islam, Naimur Rahman, and Sohag Gazi.

After this feat of Nyeem, the records for the youngest Test centurion- Mohammad Ashraful - and the youngest Test five-for on debut belongs to Bangladesh now.

Nyeem completed the five-for mission in the innings 60.2 overs, bowling out Jomel Warrican at 225/9. For his career first Test wicket, Nayeem dismissed Roston Chase and before sent off Sunil Ambris, Devendra Bishoo and Kemar Roach-all three by lbw.
