Twelve teams, including Standard Chartered Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, Eastern Bank, Prime Bank and AB Bank Limited, will compete in the T20 format of cricket at the Residential Model School & College and Gulshan Youth Club grounds.
The participating teams will initially compete in single league basis group matches and later two top teams from each of the groups will play in the semifinals.
The decision was taken at a joint meeting of bank representatives, tournament committee and advisory committee of the meet at a local hotel on Monday in the presence of former national cricketer cum banker Ishtiaq Ahmed, BCB member cum former national captain Khaled Mahmud Sujon and banker Mohammad Saadullah.
A good number of cricketers, including former national cricketer Niamur Rashid Rahul, Shafayet Kiron, Mahmudul Hasan Rana, Tareq Aziz Khan, who are working in the country’s top commercial banks, are very much excited and expressed their overall satisfaction at the initiative.
