Dhaka, Dec 22 (UNB) – Abzid Rahman of Janata Bank and CM Sohel Chowdhury of Titas Club secured two points after the 2nd round matches of the Bhopal International Grandmasters Chess Tournament that began on Friday in Bhopal, India.
Md Abzid Rahman of Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society and CM Sohel Chowdhury of Titas Club earned maximum 2 points each after the 2nd round games.
CM Subrota Biswas of Uttara Central Chess Club and Sazzad Kishor of Dhaka Knight’s Chess Club earned one point each while Ahsan Ali Jewel earned 0.5 point.
In the 2nd round matches on Saturday morning, Abzid beat Shah Moxit of India, CM Sohel beat Suthershun of India, CM Subrota beat Nayem Haque of Mir Chess Club and Jewel drew with Sahu Mitansh of India while Sazzad lost to IM Nguyen Van Huy of Vietnam.
A total 375 players from 13 countries including seven grandmasters, one woman grandmaster, 10 International Masters and a Woman International Master are taking part in the event.
