Mazharul Islam of Independent Television retained the swimming title of the Walton-BSJA Sports Carnival on the 3rd day of the meet at the Ivy Rahman Swimming Pool at the Bangabandhu National Stadium premises on Thursday.
Noor Uddin of SA Television finished runner-up, while Jotirmoy Mondal of Dainik Jugantor became 3rd in the day's swimming event.
Earlier, Fazle Rabbi Moon of Dhaka Tribune earned the double crown in the table tennis competition of the meet by winning both the singles and doubles titles at the BSJA office on the first day (Tuesday).
Jotirmoy Mondal of Dainik Jugantor emerged champions in the call bridge competition of the meet for the 2nd consecutive time on the 2nd day (Wednesday).
Seven disciplines of sports—badminton, chess, shooting, swimming, call bridge, carom (singles and doubles), and table tennis (singles and doubles)—were included in the week long sports festival only for the BSJA members.
Shooting will be held at the Hockey Stadium, and badminton at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium, while the remaining two sports—carom and chess—will be held at the BSJA office at the Bangabandhu National Stadium premises.
