Bangladesh Grand Master Ziaur Rahman finished 50th in the 18th Delhi International Grand Master Chess Tournament securing 6.5 points from 10th and last round matches held in the Indian capital New Delhi on Thursday Morning.
Bangladeshi International Master (IM) Mohammad Fahad Rahman became 82nd with 6 points, Tahsin Tajwar Zia finished 138th bagging 5.5 points, Md Zishan Rahman Maleq became 308th with 3 points while Gias Uddin Ahmed finished 322nd collecting 2.5 points.
Indian Grand Master GM Abhijit Gupta became champion securing 8.5 points.
In day’s 10th and last round matches, GM Zia beat V S Raahul of India, IM Fahad drew with Sri Sai Baswanth of India, Tahsin beat Parwar Harshit of India.
A total of 353 players from 29 countries including 37 GM, 3 WGM, 22 IM and 3 WIM participated in the event.
