The league will be played in the T20 format for the first time, confirmed Kazi Inam Ahmed, chairman of Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM).
Also, it will be the first regular domestic competition of Bangladesh after the Covid-19 hiatus.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hosted two special domestic events – BCB President's Cup and Bangabandhu T20 Cup – in the later part of 2020.
The last edition of the Dhaka League was called off after the first round of games due to the Covid-19 pandemic and is all set to be resumed in a new format.
"We hope to start the Dhaka League on May 6," Inam told the media on Sunday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
