Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan landed in hot water once again after losing his cool during the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League match between Mohammedan and Abahani Friday.
Shakib might face harsh consequences for his shocking and unsporting behaviour in the game. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to make any comment in this regard.
Shakib kicked the stumps in the fifth ball of the fifth over of Abahani's innings after his leg-before wicket appeal against Mushfiqur Rahim was turned down.
However, the all-rounder was not done. The umpire called off play due to rain interruption at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium during the sixth over of the second innings. Right before the players left the field, Shakib ran towards the umpire, uprooted all the stumps and threw them away.
Earlier, Mohammedan won the toss and batted first. They posted 145 for six in 20 overs with Shakib scoring 37 off 27 with one four and two sixes.
For Abahani, AKS Swadhin bagged three wickets conceding 24 runs in three overs while Tanzim Hasan Sakib took two wickets.
While chasing the target of 146, Abahani lost two wickets in the first over bowled by Shuvagata Hom. Mohammad Naim and Swadhin were dismissed for a duck each. Before the rain came in, Abahani were batting at 31 for three in 5.5 overs.
