Replying to South Africa’s total of 147 for 3, Bangladesh also scored 147 runs for the loss of five wickets at the end of 20th over to settle for a tie, but in the one-over eliminator, South African beat Bangladesh to whitewash the visitors in the three-match one-day series. 

In the super over, replying to Bangladesh’s 10 runs for 1 in six balls, South Africa scored 14 runs in three balls to win the match.

Bangladeshi women made a flying start in the match scoring 65 runs in 9.4 overs in the first wicket stand by Sanjida Islam and Mursheda Khatun. 

Opener Sanjida hammered an unconquered 73 runs off 58 balls, featuring eight fours and one six, Mursheda Khatun scored 28-ball 26 runs, hitting three boundaries, two down Ritu Moni made 11-ball 16 runs with a boundary while number five S. Mostary scored 11-ball 10 runs, were the main contributors for Bangladesh reaching the double figure.

TS Sekhukhane and E Yekile grabbed two wickets each conceding 19 and 30 runs respectively while Z Mali took the remaining wicket conceding 26 runs.

Earlier, sent in to bat first, South Africa scored 147 for 3 in stipulated 20 overs, featuring an unbeaten half-century by captain Nadine de Klerk.

Nadine de Klerk scored 83 runs off 53 balls, hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes to be adjudged emerging player of the match while Tazmin Brits contributed 35 runs off 36 balls, hitting 5 fours.

Nahida Akter, Ritu Moni and Fahima Khatun bagged one wicket each conceding 27, 33 and 26 runs respectively.
     
Bangladesh lost the first match by 5 runs to South Africa on July 31 before conceding the 2nd successive defeat by 6 wickets on August 1 at the same venue.
