Dhaka, Oct 14 (UNB) – Gono Bishwabidyalay (University) smartly reached the final of the United Group Faraaz Inter-University Gold Cup Football Tournament 2019 eliminating International University of Business, Agriculture & Technology (IUBAT) by 3-0 goals in the 2nd semifinal at Kamalpur Stadium here on Monday.
They will play final against South East University on Monday (Oct 21) at 3:30 pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
After a barren first half in the day’s 2nd semis, Shakhawat Hossain, Ripon Mollah and Ashraful Islam scored one goal each for the winners.
Shakhawat put Gono Bishwabidyalay ahead in the 61st minute by a rebounder when an attempt of his team-mate Russell came his way from IUBAT custodian Grant (1-0) .
Ripon Mollah doubled the winners’ margin in the 68th minute, by a rebound header, off a Shakhawat shot that also came his way from the opponent custodian (2-0).
Ashraful Islam sealed the fate of the match scoring the 3rd goal for Gono Bishwabidyalay in the 70th minute (3-0).
