Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundara Kings reached the quarterfinals of the Rivier Independence Cup Football’21 with one match to spare beating Bangladesh Police by 1-0 goal on Saturday.
Star studded Kings, which made a flying start outplaying Bangladesh Navy by 6-0 goal in their first match of the season’s curtain raiser soccer meet, booked a seat for the knocked out stage from Group D.
Brazilian forward Robson Robinho scored the match decider for the Kings in the 16th minute of the match at the Bir Shrestha Shahid Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur Saturday afternoon.
In the remaining Group D match, Bashundhara Kings will play Chittagong Abahani Limited at 6 pm on December 8 while Bangladesh Police will encounter Bangladesh Navy on the same day at 4 pm.
