Bangladesh left-arm pacer Shorfiul Islam has been left out of the India Test series starting late this month. The pacer suffered a blow during the first Test against Pakistan, which he is still recovering from.
The same blow on his side left Shoriful out of the second Test against Pakistan.
According to the physician at the BCB, the kind of injury that Shrofiul suffered takes around 10 days to recover. But in his case, it’s taking more time.
It’s expected that Shoriful will join the Bangladesh team for the T20I series against India.
Shoriful’s absence is the only change to the team that played in Pakistan. In the place that Shoriful left vacant, Bangladesh included right-arm wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali.
Jaker played T20Is for Bangladesh, but he got the call to the Test team for the first time.
The first Test of the India series will be played in Chennai from September 19, and the second Test will kick off on September 27th in Kanpur.
Before this series, Bangladesh played 13 Tests against India but failed to win any of them. Two Tests ended in a draw, and Bangladesh lost 11 of those matches.
Following the Test series, both the teams will take on a three-match T20I series.
