Manchester City and the Premier League have reached a settlement in a legal dispute over new rules governing sponsorship deals.
City had challenged amendments to the Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules, which require commercial deals linked to club owners to reflect fair market value. The rules aim to stop inflated sponsorships that could bypass financial regulations.
In a joint statement Monday, both sides said they agreed to end the proceedings, with City accepting that the current APT rules are “valid and binding.”
Separately, City still faces more than 100 charges of alleged financial breaches, which were heard by an independent commission last year. No verdict has been announced, and the club has denied all charges.
