Replying to Rajshahi’s 589/4-d in 150 overs in the first innings, Rangpur opened the second innings, having 151 runs in the 1st innings, on third day and crossed the 300-run mark spurred by opener Liton’s partnerships innings of 219 off 27.1 overs and 98 off 21.3 overs in the second and opening stand with unbeaten Mahmudul Hasan and Jahid Jabed [35 off 69b; 5x4] respectively.
Liton played a stormy innings of 142 to fire 32 boundaries and four over boundaries before being caught by Sabbir Rahman off spinner Taijul Islam, on 317/2, leaving just two balls to play for the day.
Earlier, Rajshahi resumed the 1st innings with overnight score of 419 for 2 in 116 overs and played 34 overs more on the day before declaring the innings with a lead of 438 runs as overnight Junaid Siddique completed an unbeaten century of 100* off 199 balls, including six boundaries.
Another overnight batsman Farhad Hossain [62 off 90b; 5x4; 1x6] and skipper Jahurul Islam [55 off 50b; 6x4] completed half centuries while Sabbir Rahman added unbeaten 15* runs.
