Prime Cricket Club survived a scare against Shinepukur Cricket Club in their second game of the Bangabandhu Premier Division T20 Cricket League Wednesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Anamul Haque-led Prime Bank won the toss and sent Shinepukur to bat first, who posted only 119 runs.
While chasing 120 in 20 overs, Prime Bank lost seven wickets for 89 runs. However, a 31-run stand in the eighth-wicket partnership between Raqibul Hasan and Nayeem Hasan helped them secure a three-wicket win.
Prime Bank failed to make a good start as skipper Anamul got dismissed for five in the second over. However, Tamim Iqbal and Rony Talukder added 52 runs in the second wicket stand.
After Tamim's dismissal, Mohammad Mithun, Alok Kapali and Nahidul Islam failed to respond well, pushing Prime Bank back into a tight corner.
Leg-spinner Tanvir Islam bagged three wickets for Shinepukur for 12 runs. Sumon Khan and Hasan Murad took one wicket each as well. However, a 33-ball 31-run eighth-wicket stand helped Prime Bank save the game.
Earlier, Towhid Hridoy, Tanzid Hasan, Robiul Islam scored 29, 21, 18 for Shinepukur to held them post 119 runs.
For Prime Bank, off-spinner Nayeem Hasan took three wickets conceding 24 runs in four over while Monir Hossain scalped two.
In their next game, Prime Bank will take on Mohammedan Sporting Club on June 5 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium while Shinepukur will play their next game on June 4 against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at the same venue.
