The day’s achievements in the discipline nearly doubled Bangladesh’s haul of golds in the ongoing edition of the games, and gave Bangladeshi archers a morale boost ahead of their individual events on Monday and Tuesday at Pokhara Stadium in Nepal, with a chance to sweep all the archery gold medals in this year’s regional games.
Celebrated archer Mohammad Ruman Shana, who earlier this year became the first Bangladeshi archer to qualify for the Olympic Games, will compete for the gold against Kinley Tshering of Bhutan in the men’s recurve singles while compatriot Mohammad Tamimul Islam will play against De Silva of Sri Lanka in the bronze medal match.
Eti Khatun will play for the gold against Sonam Dema of Bhutan in the final of the women’s recurve singles.
In the men’s compound singles, Md Sohel Rana will play for gold against Tandin Dorji of Bhutan in the final while his compatriot Ashim Kumar Das will play against Kumara of Sri Lanka in the bronze deciding match.
In the women’s compound singles, Suma Bishwash will play for the gold against Anuradha Karunarante of Sri Lanka in the final while Susmita Banik will play against Thakshila Damayanthi in the bronze deciding match.
