Bangladesh outplayed West Indies in the Test series recently, and in July last, the Tigers beat them in one-day and T20 series.
“Definitely, (we want to take revenge). We know that we have to win against any team we come up against. We must put our best foot forward and do the things we know. If we play our best cricket, we know we’ll come out victorious,” Shai Hope said on Wednesday at the National Cricket Academy Ground after their practice session.
West Indies struggled against the Bangladesh spin attack comprising Shakib Al Hasan, Taijul Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nayeem Hasan in the two-match Test series that Bangladesh clinched 2-0.
Shai Hope believes they will have to face this challenge once again in one-dayers, and he also added that if the Tigers come up with another plan, they are ready to face that.
“As everyone would expect the ball will spin a bit more in Bangladesh, but still, we have to wait till the day to see what it is like to play. We can expect spin and it can be something different. So we have to cover all our bases and be ready for whatever they throw at us,” the wicketkeeper-batsman said.
Before heading to the one-day series, West Indies will play a 50-over practice match on Thursday.
Shai Hope said the practice game is too important for West Indies to take a better preparation for the one-day series. “We have to make sure to get the best preparation possible in the game tomorrow (Thursday), and lead up to the first ODI. We’re ready for it,” the 25-year-old lad said.
