Gokulam Kerala Football Club will be the 3rd Indian team after Mohun Bagan AC and Chennai City FC to play in the ongoing tournament replacing BPL runners-up Dhaka Abahani Limited, who withdrew from the meet in the dying moment.
The Gokulam Kerala FC team will play their first match BPL Football Champions Bashundhara Kings on Tuesday (October 22) at 7 pm at the MA Aziz Stadium in the port city of Chattogram.
In the day’s other match, Chennaiyin FC of India to face Terengganu FC of Malaysia at 4 pm at the same venue.
A total of eight teams -- split into two groups -- are participating in the prestigious international club cup competition.
BPL champions Basundhara Kings and Gokulam Kerala FC of India have been placed in Group B with Chennaiyin FC of India and Terengganu FC of Malaysia while Group A team comprises of Mohun Bagan AC of India, TC Sports of the Maldives, Young Elephants FC of Laos and hosts Chattogram Abahani Ltd.
The two semifinals will be held on October 27 and 28 while the final match is scheduled for October 30.
