Dhaka, June 21 (UNB) — Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss against England and elected to bat first in their sixth game in the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup at Headingley in Leeds on Friday.
Before this match, Sri Lanka played five matches and won only one. Despite the poor performance, they secured four points due to two washed-out games.
On the other hand, England played five matches and won four of them. Their only loss came against Pakistan. England is now at number three on the points table right after Australia and New Zealand.
