“Touching a milestone is always a matter of pleasure for every sportsperson, and the thing is not different to me. I still enjoy my game like the first day. It feels bad when I fail to perform. But, the thing is that I still enjoy my game,” Razzak told reporters whiles expressing his feeling after touching the milestone.

Earlier, he took four wickets for Prime Bank Cricket Club in the ongoing season of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) on Wednesday. Razzak ended up taking four wickets conceding 15 runs in eight overs against Uttara Sporting Club and along the way he completed the milestone of taking 400 wickets.

He has also scalped 500 wickets in First-class cricket as the first Bangladeshi.

Razzak took 269 matches to complete the milestone of 400 wickets with the best bowling figure of 7/17. He took five or more wickets in an innings for nine times in List-A cricket. The southpaw started playing List-A cricket back in 2001. 

“I was not aware of the record. Actually, I am not that sort of cricketer who takes care of the stats too much. I like to know from you,” Razzak told the reporters.

While describing the secret behind his long-career, Razzak said, “Being focused was the main (behind my success). I think everyone should be focused on their game. At the same time, everyone needs to be fit in order to get a long career.”

“My family always supports me to do my best, and they also encourage me during my bad days. Everything would have been tough without their support,” the southpaw further said.

Razzak was the best spinner of the national team during his best time. At present, there is no left-handed specialist spinner in the team accept Shakib Al Hasan.

Razzak said it happened due to the poor show of those get chances.

“Shakib has been doing well for a long. But, the other guys who got chances failed to capitalize. I think they should practice more because bowling has been the main strength of Bangladesh.” Razzak concluded.
