Riding on the record-breaking opening stand by Lokesh Raul and Rohit Sharma, India posted 210 for two in 20 overs against Afghanistan on Wednesday.
India’s 210 is now the highest team total in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
Lokesh and Rohit put up 140 in the opening stand in 14.4 overs. It was the biggest opening stand of India in the T20 World Cups. They surpassed the previous record 136 by Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag.
Rohit ended up at 74 off 47 balls. He smashed eight four and three sixes, while Raul scored 69 off 48 balls with six fours and two sixes.
In the third wicket stand, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya posted 63 off only 21 balls. While Rishabh hit 27 off 13 balls, Hardik scored 35 off 13 balls.
Indi have lost both of their first two matches against Pakistan and New Zealand. On the other hand, Afghanistan beat Scotland, Namibia, but were defeated by Pakistan.
