The Young Tigers defeated Canterbury Invitation XI by a massive 146 runs Under DL method in their one-off preparation match in Lincoln on Friday. 

Winning the toss , Bangladesh U-19 team batted first and scored 388 runs for 7 in 50 overs featuring 102 runs by Tanzid Hasan, 52 runs by Tawhid Hridoy and not out 57 by Shahadat Hossain. 

Later, Bangladeshi bowlers restricted Canterbury at 197 for 7 in reduced 45 overs. 

Shoriful Islam and Hasan Murad bagged two wickets each while Avishek Das, Shamim Hossain and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury claimed one wicket each for Bangladesh. 

This is for the first time that Bangladesh team is touring New Zealand after the terror attack in Christchurch last March, which forced premature end of Bangladesh and New Zealand series.
