An informal trilateral meeting of foreign ministers from China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan was held in Beijing on Wednesday.

Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, presided over the meeting.

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Afghanistan's Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi also attended the meeting.

The foreign ministers expressed optimism about the outcomes of the dialogue, reaffirming their commitment to deepen collaboration and fully realize the potential of the trilateral mechanism for mutual benefit.

After the meeting, Wang Yi reviewed and summarized its key outcomes, highlighting the main points of consensus and future cooperation.

Strengthening Mutual Trust and Good-neighborliness: China supports Afghanistan and Pakistan in pursuing development paths suited to their national circumstances, while safeguarding their sovereignty, security, and dignity.

Enhancing the Dialogue Mechanism: Emphasis on utilizing the China-Afghanistan-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Dialogue platform, with a goal to convene the sixth meeting in Kabul soon.

Promoting Diplomatic Engagement: Both Afghanistan and Pakistan expressed willingness to elevate their diplomatic ties, including exchanging ambassadors promptly. China welcomed this move and committed to supporting improved relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Expanding Belt and Road Cooperation: Focus on extending the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Afghanistan and strengthening regional connectivity initiatives.

Advancing Practical Cooperation: Supporting Afghanistan’s reconstruction and development, increasing trade exchanges, and helping Afghanistan build its capacity for growth.

Combating Terrorism: United in opposition to all forms of terrorism, China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan will enhance law enforcement and security cooperation, and remain alert to external interference in regional affairs.

Ensuring Regional Stability: Committed to maintaining peace and stability in the region and creating a conducive external environment for the development and revitalization of all parties.
