Four people were killed when a helicopter crashed southeast of Montreal in Canada's Quebec province on Saturday, provincial police said.
The helicopter reportedly experienced difficulties before crashing around 2:30pm in Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville, about 50 kilometres southeast of Montreal, said Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control within an hour, but all four people aboard the helicopter were pronounced dead at the scene, she said.
Police have not yet identified the victims or determined the cause of the crash.
Bilodeau said the helicopter appeared to be a private aircraft.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has sent investigators to the crash site to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
