Bangladesh Meteorological Department BMD) has predicted light to moderate rains or thundershowers across the country in 24 hours from 9 am on Saturday as monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh. “Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country”, it said. Rains may lash all divisions: BMD Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday predicted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country over 24 hours, starting at 9 am today. “Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said a Met Office bulletin. Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. A low-pressure area is likely to form over the south Bay of Bengal around May 7 and it is likely to intensify, said a special bulletin from the Met Office on Wednesday.  

Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely at a few places over six divisions in the next 24 hours commencing  9 am on Monday. According to a Met office bulletin, “Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Sylhet division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Chattogram divisions.” Rain likely to continue till Tuesday in different parts of the country, said Shaheenul Islam, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD).
