'Team United’ announces panel for e-CAB elections
In preparation for the 2025-2027 term, the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) has unveiled a robust 11-member panel, named ‘Team United’.
The announcement was made through a press release on Friday.
The members of the ‘Team United’ panel include Zannatul Hoque Shapla (Azure Cuisine), Mohammad Sahab Uddin (Diabetes Store Limited), Saleh Ahmed (Purple IT Ltd), Abu Sufyan Nilove Bhuyan (Nijol Creative), S M Nurun Nabi (Bikroy Bazaar), Md. Tashdik Habib (Clean Force Ltd), Md. Nur Islam Babu (Khet Khamar), Hosneara Nuri (Naurin's Mirror), Saifur Rahman (One Mall Ltd), Syed Uswat Imam (Xpress In Town Ltd), and Mohammad Emran (Inception Technologies Ltd).

In a statement regarding the panel, Shapla said a wave of positive change has swept through Bangladesh’s startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Team United is entering the e-CAB elections with a pragmatic, technology-driven, and sustainable plan to channel this change more effectively and systematically.
This panel is focused on amplifying the voice of entrepreneurs, emphasising their experiences, challenges, and opportunities. We are committed to ensuring that e-CAB reaches its desired goals with a strong, responsible, and progressive team.
The press release further outlined Team United's core goals to simplify and enrich the entrepreneurial environment, initiate practical technological and policy-based measures, protect entrepreneurs’ rights, and prioritise the advancement of women and young entrepreneurs.
The e-CAB elections for the 2025-2027 term will occur on May 31. In this election, 502 voters will choose their representatives from among 36 candidates vying for 11 director positions.

Pro-Awami League panel sweeps JUTA election
Pro-Awami League (AL) Bangabandhu Panel teachers gained a landslide victory in the Jahangirnagar University Teachers' Association (DUTA) election Wednesday.
The voting was held at the university teachers' club from 9am to 1pm. The results were announced in the evening.
The pro-AL panel bagged 11 posts of the 15-member executive committee with Professor Farid of the physics department elected as president and Professor M Shamim Kaiser of the Institute of Information and Technology as general secretary.
Also, from the panel, Sabbir Alam of mathematics, Ahemd Reza of English, Nazmul Hasan of Bangla, Mohammad Tariqul Islam of government and politics, Mahfuza Khatun of finance and banking, Md Mizanur Rahman of geography and environment, Suborno Karmakar of chemistry, Mohammad Shafi-Ur-Rahman of urban and regional planning and Farha Matin Julia of biochemistry and molecular biology, departments were elected members.

Monowar Hossain of the zoology department and Professor Mohammad Shafiqul of the economics department were elected as vice-president and treasurer, respectively, from the BNP-backed Sammilito Shikkhak Samaj.
Also, from the panel, Borhan Uddin of the biochemistry and molecular biology department and Mohammad Rezaul Rakib of the geography and environment department were elected joint secretary and executive committee member.

With eye on polls, BNP sets up new Jubo Dal panel
BNP on Friday announced an eight-member partial committee of its youth wing, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, as part of its move to overhaul the party and its associate bodies before the next general election.
Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and Monayem Munna were made the president and the general secretary, respectively, of the central committee of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, the party's senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said in a release.
A former president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Tuku was the general secretary of the previous committee of Jubo Dal.

Besides, Mamun Hasa was made the senior vice-president, Nurul Islam Nayan the vice-president, Shafiqul Islam Milton the first joint general secretary, Golam Mawla Shaheen the second joint general secretary, Ishaq Sarker the organising secretary, and Kamruzzaman Dulal the office secretary of the eight-member Jubo Dal committee.
Jubo Dal’s last committee was formed on January 17, 2017, with Saiful Islam Nirob as the president and Sultan Salahuddin Tuku as general secretary.
As the party is preparing to wage a movement with a demand for holding the next parliamentary polls under a non-party neutral government, BNP has long been overhauling the party’s different units and associate bodies.

Speaker nominates panel chair of 17th JS session
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday nominated a five-member panel of chair for the 17th session of the 11th parliament.
The panel members are Shahiduzzaman Sarker, Shamsul Huq Tuku, Jewel Areng, Kazi Firoze Rashid and Sherin Ahmed.

The speaker announced their names at the beginning of the day’s business.
They will conduct the House proceedings in chronological order in the absence of the speaker and the deputy speaker.
