A local leader of Jubo League was shot dead allegedly by miscreants at Pachakari village in Manirampur upazila of Jashore district on Monday.The deceased was identified as Uday Shankar Biswas, 42, convener of Nehalpur union unit Jubo League and son of Ranjit Biswas.Quoting family sources, Sheikh Maniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Manirampur police station, said miscreants shot Uday while he was returning to his home from a local bazar around 7:30 am, leaving him injured.

18-year-old shot dead in Kutupalong Rohingya camp
A Rohingya youth was shot to death, allegedly by members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), at Kutupalong camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Yunus, son of Hamid Hossain of the camp.
Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station, said members of ARSA went into the camp around 7:30 pm on Tuesday and opened fire on Yunus, suspecting him to be involved in the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO), leaving him injured.

Police are trying to arrest the criminals, who went into hiding after the incident.

Woman killed, toddler son among 3 others shot standing on sidewalk on Chicago's South Side
A 23-year-old woman was killed and three other people — including her 2-year-old son — also were shot Wednesday on Chicago's South Side, police said.
The toddler was hospitalized in good condition after being shot in a foot, as were his 29-year-old father, who also was shot in a foot, and a 62-year-old man, who was shot in the back, Chicago Police Department Chief of Patrol Brian McDermott said in a news conference near the scene in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
The victims were standing on a sidewalk around 3 p.m. when assailants got out of a vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene, McDermott said.

The woman was shot multiple times and died later at a hospital, authorities said.

UPDF man shot dead in Rangamati
A member of the United People's Democratic Front's (UPDF) was shot to death allegedly by miscreants at Sapchhari in Sadar upazila of Rangamati district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Rupanta Chakma alias Leja Chakma, 47, collector of UPDF and son of Laxmi Chandra Chakma of Shimultoli village in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachari district.
Rafiqul Amin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said the miscreants opened fire on Leja Chakma while he was going to work around 8:30 am.

On information, a team of police left for the place to recover the body.
The UPDF have not given their official reaction to the killing yet, but some of their men blamed Jana Sanghati Samity, although it wasn't clear if they meant the PCJSS led by Santu Larma or the splinter group JSS (Reformist).

Man shot dead in Natore
A 32-year-old man was shot to death at Hazratpur in Sadar upazila of Natore district early today.
The deceased was identified as Farhad Khandaker.
Abul Kalam, in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said a group of miscreants swooped on Farhad when he was returning home around 1 am and opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot.
Finding no whereabouts of Farhad till 1 am, his wife Lutfunnahar went out in search of him and found his body, in a pool of blood, at Hazratpur Government Primary School premises.
Hearing her screams, locals rushed in and informed the police.

Rohingya man shot dead in Cox’s Bazar Balukhali camp
A Rohingya man was shot dead by some unidentified miscreants at Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased, Mohammad Rashid, 35, was a resident of Balukhali Rohingya camp.
Sheikh Md. Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Ukhiya Police Station, said the miscreants picked up Md. Rashid he was returning home from night duty in an NGO office and shot to death.
Police recovered the body and sent it to morgue for autopsy, he added.

Rohingya youth shot dead in Ukhiya camp
A Rohingya youth was shot dead by miscreants at Ukhiya Rohingya camp on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Rafiq, 35, son of Dil Mohammad and resident of A/9 block of Ukhiya Rohingya camp-19.
Farooq Ahmad, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Farooq Ahmad of APBN-8, said that 10-15 armed miscreants abducted Rafiq from his own block of camp-19 and shot him to death on the spot.
The body was handed over to the police after recovery, said the ASP adding that efforts are going on to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.

23 get shot by single shooter in clash over land deed in Sirajganj
At least 29 people were injured, including 23 with gunshot wounds, in a clash between two groups over releasing a land deed in Sadar upazila of the district on Monday noon.
Twenty-one bullet-hit people have been admitted to Sirajganj 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital.
Md Humanyun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said there had been an argument between one Rubel Sarker of Baotara village under Chhaydabad union and deed writer Alam Hossain over releasing a deed for a long time.
The duo locked into an altercation over the matter at noon which descended to armed violence within a few minutes when supporters from both sides joined it, the OC said.
One of the fellows of Rubel named Arif, who was equipped with his licensed pistol, opened fire on his opponents leaving 23 people bullet-hit, on several parts of the body.

Arif, son of ward No.6 member Hamid of Chhaydabad union, was detained soon after the clash, the OC said.

Another Rohingya camp leader gets shot in Cox’s Bazar
A Rohingya leader of camp No 9 sustained a bullet injury in an attack by miscreants in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday night.
Mohammad Hossain is a leader, locally known as Head Majhi, of the Rohingya camp No 9 in Balukhali Moinakhonar area of the upazila.
Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station, confirmed the matter and said the Rohingya leader received three bullets in his body during the attack around 8pm, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where has been undergoing treatment, he said adding that no one has been arrested so far.

Businessman shot dead in Rajbari
Miscreants gunned down a businessman at a tea stall in Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday evening, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Ariful Islam, 25, son of Abdur Razzak of Khankhanapur’s Sardarpara in the upazila and poultry businessman.
Local Abul Kalam said Ariful was sitting on a bench at a tea stall in front of Suraj Mohini Institute High School nearby Khankhanapur Union Parishad around 6pm.
A group of miscreants on two motorbikes from Khankhanapur Bazar shot him dead, he said.
He sustained bullet injuries in the head and chest causing immense bleeding, local Kalam depicted.

Shawkat Hasan, inspector of Khankhanapur police investigation centre, said they have been working to unearth the reason for the murder and identify the killers.
He also said they collected some samples from the spot where higher ups officers, including superintendent of police, visited.
