HSC exams for July 28, 29, 31 & Aug 1 postponed
The HSC and equivalent examinations of all education boards scheduled for July 28, 29, 31 and August 1 have been postponed due to unavoidable reasons.
The new schedule for the postponed examinations will be notified later, according to a notification signed by Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board.

Earlier, the HSC and equivalent examinations scheduled for July 18, 21, 23, 25 were also postponed in the wake of violence amid students’ demonstration for reforming quota in public service.

HSC, equivalent exams begin
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent exams have begun across the country except in Sylhet division this morning.
The exams in Sylhet division will start from July 9 as Ministry of Education deferred the board’s exams due to flood.
The examinees under the Sylhet Board will sit for Bangla-I, II and English-I and II papers as per new routine to be announced later, said Sylhet Education Board Chairman Rama Bijoy Sarkar.
A total of 14,50,790 students from nine general Education Boards, Madrasha Board and Technical Board are expected to sit for the exams from 9,463 educational institutions at 2,275 centres across the country, according to authorities.
HSC, equivalent exams begin Sunday; over 14 lakh candidates to appear
Among them, 11, 28,281 students are supposed to appear from nine general boards, 88,076 from madrasha board and 2, 34,433 from Technical Board respectively.
Some 281 students will appear for the examination from eight overseas centres.
Like the previous years, all coaching centres were asked to keep closed from June 29 till August 11.

HSC 2023: Exams to begin from Aug 17, routine published
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent exams will begin on August 17.
The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board released the routine of the exams for all education boards on Thursday.

According to the routine, HSC written exams will begin on August 17 and will continue till September 25.
Practical exams will be held from September 26 to October 4, according to the routine.

HSC exams will be held for three hours from 10 am to 1 pm and 2pm to 5pm.
This year's HSC exams will kick off with the Bangla first paper.

SSC 2023 exams begin today
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams for 2023 began today (April 30, 2023) across Bangladesh.
SSC exams began at 10 am with Bangla 1st Paper.
According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 20,72,163 candidates are sitting for this year’s SSC and equivalent exams.

In order to ensure a conducive and peaceful environment, no one except the candidates will be allowed within 200 yards of the exam halls during the SSC exams, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said in a press release on April 27.

SSC exams to begin on June 19
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations will begin on June 19 based on a shortened syllabus.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education unveiled the schedules for the public examination on Wednesday.

The SSC exams, including the practical ones, will end on July 20.
SSC examinees will have a total of two hours to write -- 20 minutes for MCQ and 1 hour and 40 minutes for CQ.
On February 20, National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) re-revised the syllabuses of Bangla second, English first and second papers of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) after more editing.

According to notifications issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examination will begin on August 22.
As per the government's academic calendar, SSC exams begin from February 1 and HSC from April 1 every year. However, these exams were not held as per schedule in the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
