Severe cyclonic storm Asani moves northwestwards
Severe cyclonic storm Asani, placed over west central Bay and adjoining area, moved north-northwestwards over the same area.
It was centered at evening on Monday about 1100 Kms Southwest of Chattogram port, 1045 kms Southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 990 kms South-Southwest of Mongla port and 985 kms South-Southwest of Payra port, said a Met office bulletin.
It is likely to move in a northwesterly direction, it said.

Maximum sustained wind speed within 64 kms of the severe cyclonic storm centre is about 89 kph rising to 117 kph in gusts or squalls.
Sea will remain high near the severe cyclonic center.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist distant warning signal no.2.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution.

They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
