4 ARSA operatives held with huge cache of arms in Cox’s Bazar
Armed Police Battalion (APBN) detained four members of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) with a huge amount of arms and ammos in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Friday morning.
The detainees, identified as Md Jobayer, 20, Nur Mohammad, 25, Jamila Begum, 48 and Bibi, 16, are residents of different blocks of the Rohingya camps in the upazila.
According to an APBN media release signed by Syed Harunur Rashid, commander of 14-APBN, the battalion conducted a drive at block G in camp No.7 on information that 10 to 15 ARSA members including terrorist Chhamiuddin were staying there.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the miscreants allegedly opened fire on the APBN members forcing them to retaliate with bullets, it said, adding that a terrorist sustained bullet injuries in the incident.
As a consequence of the gunfight, the APBN members also conducted another drive at block C in camp No.5 when they came to know that the ARSA operatives including Chhamiuddin were staying there.
Though terrorists including Chhamiuddin managed to flee the scene , sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the four people including the bullet-hit one were detained with the arms.
Four locally-made one-shooter guns, 30 rounds of bullets of Chinese rifle, 27 rounds of pistol bullets, five cartridges of shotgun, three blank magazines, four walkie talkies, five mobile phone sets and one knife were recovered from the house, according to the APBN.
A process was underway to file a case against them in this connection at the local police station, it added.

7 Rohingyas illegally entered from India held in Cox’s Bazar
Members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on Sunday detained seven members of two families who took shelter in Lambashia refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar's Ukhiya who illegally entered from India.
The detainees were identified as Shajan,22, his wife Hamida Begum, 20, their son Ibrahim,3, Mohammad Tahir,33, his daughters Saima,5, and Ramina, 2, and Anwar Kalim,25.

They were held from block F-14 of Lambashia Rohingya Camp-1 East on Saturday evening, said Naimul Haque, commander of APBn-14.
He said in primary questioning the detainees have accepted entering from India.
All the seven detainees have been transferred to the transit camp with the help of the Camp-In-Charge(CIC), said APBn commander Mainul Haque.

5 Rohingyas held with arms and drugs in Ukhia
Five Rohingyas were arrested Sunday with arms and drugs during a joint operation by the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) and Ukhia Police in Cox's Bazar’s Ukhia Rohingya camp.
The arrestees were listed criminal Nur Kalam, under-warranted accused Fayez and Md Abul Kalam; Osman and Akter Hossain.

Md Naimul Haque, 14-APBN captain said APBN and Ukhia police conducted a joint operation around 3:30 pm on Sunday. During the operation, five Rohingyas were arrested and a locally made shooter-gun, one round of ammunition and 122 pieces of yaba were seized from them.

According to APBn sources, the arrestees were involved in various crimes including intimidation, extortion and kidnapping of ordinary Rohingyas in the camp area.

6 Rohingyas held from refugee camps
Armed Police Battalion (APBN) on Friday held six Rohingyas accused in different cases from the refugee camps in Ukhia and Teknaf.
The arrestees were Abdul Mannan and Enayetullah from Madhuchhara camp; Taher from Irani hill; Nazim Uddin and Nur Bashar from Lambasia camp; Usman from Kutupalongwas.

Captain of the 14th Armed Police Battalion and in-charge of the Ukhia Rohingya camp, superintendent of police Naimul Haque, said the detainees were involved in various crimes including extortion, kidnapping, robbery, murder cases in the Rohingya camp area.

He said that the arrestees were handed over to Ukhia police station to take necessary legal action.
