Bangladesh: No respite from rains yet!
Rains will continue to drench Bangladesh, with monsoon being fairly active over the country. That's the court message from the weatherman.
“Light to moderate rains or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” the weather department said in its bulletin on Saturday morning.
Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country.
The Met office recorded the highest 68 mm of rainfall in Dimla in the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded in Tetulia at 34.1 degrees and the minimum temperature in Ishwardi at 24.3 degrees.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low pressure area over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas weakened into a low pressure area over the same region and merged with the monsoon axis.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to the northwest Bay, as per the bulletin.

Rains to drench Bangladesh in 24 hours
Brace for more showers in the next 24 hours, as the weather department has predicted light to moderate rains across the country.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the southern part of the country,” the Met office said on Wednesday.
Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country.
The well-marked low over coastal Odisha and adjoining Northwest Bay moved westwards and intensified into a depression first and then weakened into a well-marked low hovering over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas of India.
It is likely to move north-westwards further and weaken gradually, according to the weather bulletin.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, the centre of the well-marked low, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across central parts of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to the Northwest Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere over the North Bay.

Rains to drench eight divisions
Amid sweltering summer heat, the weather department has predicted showers in the eight divisions of Bangladesh in the next 24 hours.
"Rain or thundershowers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy (22-43mm) to heavy (44-88mm) falls at places over the country," the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said Saturday.

The highest temperature today was recorded at 34.8 degrees Celsius in Khulna's Satkhira, while the minimum temperature was 18.5 degrees in Rajshahi's Badalgachhi.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged, the BMD said.
